(Autorenreferat)... view less

"Although the problem of interculturality is intensively discussed in the socialsciences today there exists no methodology of empirical research of intercultural situations. Proceeding from the concept of 'culture as translationprocess' a first Stepp to such methodology is developed here. Thereby the semantic of marriage in the Japanese culture is used as an example dealing with difficulties and possibilities on fieldworks. This example demonstrates how the 'otherness' and the 'selfness' were negotiated and expressed in a interview situation and how it is possible bring these into results of research. Going from this point conclusions to a methodology are drawn at the end." (author's abstract)... view less
