Strukturen für klimafreundliche Erwerbsarbeit gestalten

Abstract

In vielen Fällen erfüllt Erwerbsarbeit nicht die Voraussetzungen für ein klimafreundliches Leben. Daher ist es notwendig, die Strukturbedingungen von Erwerbsarbeit grundlegend zu verändern. Zu diesem Befund kommt der APCC-Sachstandsbericht "Strukturen für ein klimafreundliches Leben". Der Beitrag referiert zentrale Ergebnisse mit Fokus auf Gestaltungsoptionen für ein klimafreundliches Leben innerhalb wie auch außerhalb der Erwerbsarbeit. Das Spektrum reicht von Maßnahmen der Dekarbonisierung, der Qualifizierung und Umschulung über Arbeitszeitverkürzung bis zur Reduktion der Abhängigkeit von Erwerbseinkommen. Besondere Bedeutung kommt der sozial gerechten Gestaltung des Umbaus zu (Just Transition). Weite Bereiche der Erwerbsarbeit erfüllen gegenwärtig nicht die Voraussetzungen für ein klimafreundliches Leben. Erwerbsarbeit ist ein wichtiger klimapolitischer Hebel - als Produktionsfaktor und da sie den Alltag von Menschen in hohem Maße strukturiert. Individuen können ihre Verantwortung für klimafreundliches Leben nur wahrnehmen, wenn die Strukturbedingungen von Erwerbsarbeit verändert werden.

In many cases, employment does not meet the requirements for a climate-friendly life. Therefore, it is necessary to fundamentally change the structural conditions of employment. This is the conclusion of the APCC Special Report "Structures for climate-friendly living". This contribution reports on main results, with a focus on policy options to generate the preconditions for climate-friendly living within as well as outside of employment. Potential measures include decarbonisation, qualification and vocational training, as well as the reduction of working hours or decreasing the dependence on earned income. A special focus is laid on the issue of a socially just transformation. Large areas of employment currently do not meet the requirements for a climate-friendly life. Employment is an important lever for climate policy - as a factor of production and because it structures people's everyday lives to a significant extent. Individuals can only assume responsibility for living climate-friendly if the structural conditions of employment are changed.
