Discourse Analysis in France. A Conversation

Abstract

In diesem Interview skizziert der Sprachwissenschaftler Dominique MAINGUENEAU die Geschichte der Diskursanalyse in Frankreich. Nach einem Überblick über ihren intellektuellen Entstehungskontext wendet er sich Schlüsselfiguren der Diskursanalyse in Frankreich wie Michel FOUCAULT und Michel PÊCHEUX zu. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit widmet er Michel FOUCAULT, der seine Arbeiten zur diskursiven Szenographie und zu selbst-konstituierenden Diskursen entscheidend beeinflusst hat. Mit Blick auf FOUCAULT's methodologische Wirkmächtigkeit hebt MAINGUENEAU das Problem der Äußerung hervor. Als eine französische Version der Diskurspragmatik fokussiert die Äußerungslinguistik auf die Art und Weise, wie sich Texte mit ihren Kontexten verbinden.

In this interview, the linguist Dominique MAINGUENEAU sketches the history of discourse analysis in France. After discussing the intellectual background in which it emerged, he turns to certain key figures of French discourse analysis like Michel FOUCAULT and Michel PÊCHEUX. Special attention is given to the role of Michel FOUCAULT, who has crucially influenced his research on discursive scenography and self-constituting discourses. Concerning FOUCAULT's methodological impact MAINGUENEAU emphasises the problem of "enunciation". A French version of discourse pragmatics, enunciative linguistics focuses on the way texts mobilise their contexts.

Después de comentar el bagaje intelectual en el que éste aparece, revisa algunas de sus figuras clave: Michel FOUCAULT y Michel PÊCHEUX. Le concede una especial atención al papel de Michel FOUCAULT, autor que ha influenciado de manera especial su trabajo sobre escenografía discursiva y los discursos auto-constituyentes. En lo que hace referencia al impacto metodológico de la obra de FOUCAULT, MAINGUENEAU enfatiza el problema de la "enunciación": una versión francesa de la pragmática del discurso, centrada en las formas en qué los textos movilizan sus contextos.
