Partizipatives Forschen mit alten pflegebedürftigen Menschen

Abstract

In this article, we discuss the participation of elderly care recipients in the context of social science research. Utilizing the discourses and participatory debates in the context of social work, we outline an understanding of participatory research, focusing on the rights of care recipients and taking them as a starting point. On this basis, weexplore how to negotiate research questions and topics, modify traditional empirical research methods, and reflect on quality criteria and the structuring of relationships in order to be able to redeem the right to participation of care recipients. We conclude by identifying the limits of participatory research with vulnerable groups and with a plea for understanding participation as an opportunity, as it were, as a democratization of science and a democratization through science.

Im Rahmen des vorliegenden Artikels wird Partizipation im Kontext wissenschaftlicher Forschung mit alten pflegebedürftigen Menschen diskutiert. Unter Rückgriff auf die Diskurse um Partizipation in der Sozialen Arbeit konturieren wir ein Verständnis partizipativer Forschung, bei dem die Rechte pflegebedürftiger Menschen zentral gesetzt und zum Ausgangspunkt genommen werden. Davon ausgehend wird exploriert, wie sowohl Forschungsfrage und -thema auszuhandeln, traditionelle empirische Forschungsmethoden zu modifizieren als auch Gütekriterien sowie die Beziehungsgestaltung zu reflektieren wären, um das Recht auf Mitwirkung pflegebedürftiger Menschen einlösen zu können. Der Artikel endet einerseits mit einer Benennung der Grenzen partizipativer Forschung mit vulnerablen Gruppen, wie pflegebedürftigen Menschen - andererseits mit einem Plädoyer dafür, Partizipation jedoch als Chance, als eine Demokratisierung von Wissenschaft und als eine Demokratisierung durch Wissenschaft zu verstehen.
