Die Welt zu Gast am Esstisch: Skalierungen von Weltbezügen in kulinarischen Versammlungen

Abstract

This contribution offers two scalings of one’s relation(s) to the self and to the world using the example of community building in collective eating and cooking settings. There are the subjective and bodily aspects of commensality on the one hand that relate to the world as an external point of reference. On the other hand, the global and social aspects of collective eating and cooking are defined as an item and element of social distinction. These two (amongst other possible) perspectives are not only parallel but are entangled with each other. This is reflected in the conclusion with regard to methodology in ethnographic (food) research.

Dieser Beitrag zeigt am Beispiel kollektiven Essens und Kochens zwei mögliche Skalierungen von Weltbezügen auf, die das Entstehen einer Gemeinschaft beeinflussen. In der Mikroperspektive geht es um die subjektiv-leiblichen Aspekte gemeinsamen Essens. Hier wird Welt als außenliegender Referenzpunkt angenommen. In der Makroperspektive werden die die sozialen und globalen Aspekte thematisiert, die Gegenstand und/oder Distinktionsmerkmal dieser kulinarischen Versammlungen sein können. Die analysierten Ebenen stehen dabei nicht für sich, sondern sind miteinander verschränkt, was abschließend methodologisch für ethnographische (Nahrungs-)Forschung reflektiert wird.
