Der Nordthüringer Kulturraum und die "Europäische Metropolregion Mitteldeutschland": Möglichkeiten und Wege der Zusammenarbeit

Abstract

Ziel des Artikels ist die Herausarbeitung der Auswirkungen von Kooperationen verschiedenartiger und unterschiedlich großer Netzwerke. Während die "Europäische Metropolregion Mitteldeutschland" (EMMD) sich über drei Bundesländer erstreckt und neu strukturiert wurde, umfasst das Städtenetz SEHN (Südharz-Eichfeld-Hainich- Netz) Mittel- und Kleinstädte in der Planungsregion Nordthüringen und besteht seit 1996. Schwerpunkt der Zusammenarbeit sind die sich ergänzenden Bereiche Kultur und Tourismus. Die Ziele des Städtenetzes SEHN im Arbeitskreis KulTour (Kombination aus Kultur und Tourismus) - wie die Verbesserung des Images der Planungsregion Nordthüringen, die Erhöhung des Bekanntheitsgrades von Alleinstellungsmerkmalen und Wissenswertem bei Gästen und Bürgern sowie die Interessenvertretung der Nordthüringer Städte nach außen - ließen sich durch eine projektbezogene Mitarbeit in der EMMD weit über die Landesgrenzen Thüringens hinaus verwirklichen. Projektbeispiele sind u.a.: Präsentation und Marketing für die Welterbestätten, Erstellung und Pflege eines digitalen mitteldeutschen Eventkalenders und die gemeinsame Erfassung und Vorstellung industriekultureller Potenziale. Die EMMD profitiert ebenfalls von den langjährigen Erfahrungen und Ideen des Städtenetzes SEHN. Außerdem ergänzt sie ihr Angebot durch einzigartige kulturelle Veranstaltungen und die touristischen Sehenswürdigkeiten Nordthüringens. Auch wenn die ideellen oder wirtschaftlichen Effekte der Kultur nicht immer messbar sind, sind die Vorteile dieser Zusammenarbeit eindeutig, z.B. durch die Transformation von kulturellen und touristischen Potenzialen, die Entwicklung gemeinsamer Ideen bis zur Projektrealisierung, die Teilnahme an Aktionen, welche sich eine kleine Städtekooperation allein nicht leisten könnte, die Einbindung in gemeinsame Druckerzeugnisse und digitale Vernetzung - kurz gesagt: durch Synergieeffekte und eine gebündelte Leistungskraft.

The aim of the article is to work out the effects of collaborations of diverse and different sized networks. While the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany (EMMD - Europäische Metropolregion Mitteldeutschland) had extended and restructured across three federal states, the SEHN (Südharz-Eichfeld-Hainich-Netz) city network encompasses medium-sized and small towns in the planning region of Northern Thuringia and has been in existence since 1996. The cooperation focuses on the complementary fields of culture and tourism. The goals of the SEHN city network in the KulTour working group (combination of culture and tourism), such as improving the image of the planning region of North Thuringia, increasing the level of awareness of unique selling propositions and worth knowing among guests and citizens, and representing the interests of the cities of North Thuringia to the outside world, could be achieved through project-related measures Realize participation in the EMMD far beyond the national borders of Thuringia. Project examples are: Presentation and marketing for the world heritage sites, creation and maintenance of a digital central German event calendar or the joint recording and presentation of industrial cultural potential. The EMMD benefits from the many years of experience and ideas of the SEHN city network. Furthermore, it complements its offer with partly unique cultural events and tourist attractions in Northern Thuringia. Even if the ideal or economic effects of culture are not always measurable, the advantages of this cooperation are clear: Transformation of cultural and touristic potential, development of common ideas up to project realization, participation in actions that a small city cooperation could not afford, integration into common printed matter and digital networking, ... In short: synergy effects are aimed at and performance is bundled.
