Multilokalität als Theorem der Kulturanalyse: Akteurzentrierte Perspektiven der Kulturanthropologie

Abstract

Der kulturanthropologische Zugang zu Multilokalität fokussiert die Perspektive des handelnden Individuums, das zur Herstellung von sozialem Sinn sich ihm bietende Raumressourcen nutzt. In seiner theoretischen Herleitung und Ausformulierung wird der Begriff zu einem Instrument der Erfassung gesellschaftlicher Dynamik. Als Facette einer spätmodernen Lebensweise, die schichtenübergreifend unterschiedliche Altersund Interessengruppen umfasst, lässt sich multilokales Wohnen als Kulturtechnik sinnhaften Handelns beschreiben, die der Nutzung von Gegenwartsmöglichkeiten ebenso wie der Bewältigung ihrer Anforderungen dient. Alternierende, häufig transnationale Wohnpraktiken ermöglichen in diesem Sinne Handlungs- und Denkspielräume, die einen distanzierenden Ausgleich zu bindenden Alltagsanforderungen darstellen.

The cultural anthropological approach to multilocality focuses on the perspective of the acting individual, who uses the space resources available to create social meaning. Through its theoretical derivation and formulation, the term becomes an instrument for recording social dynamics. As a facet of a late-modern way of life that encompasses different age and interest groups across different social strata, multilocal living can be described as a cultural technique of meaningful action which serves to make use of present opportunities and to cope with the demands posed by those opportunities. In this sense, alternating, often transnational living arrangements allow scope for actions and thoughts that represent a distancing balance to binding everyday demands.
