This study explored the underlying factors that influence parents’ preferences towards private schools in Rawalpindi city, Pakistan. A total of 258 parents were selected through convenient sampling for the data collection. Mixed method approach was used to collect data from 258 parents whose children were studying in primary private schools. 250 parents filled the survey questionnaires, while 8 parents were interviewed. It was found that parents do not rely only on quality education but also consider other factors like school environment and facilities provided by school. A central finding in this research was that parents were finding better educational environment for their children. Parent’s involvement is found to be very important factor in parental decisions regarding school selection.... view less
