Gleichartig - aber anderswertig? Zur künftigen Rolle der (Fach-)Hochschulen im deutschen Hochschulsystem

Abstract

What role will the (vocational) colleges play in the future third level education system in Germany? The authors of the anthology explore the question, which strategies vocational colleges could develop in a bid to profile themselves successfully. They offer an introduction to the current situation in German vocational colleges and look at other European countries, followed by an outline of possible fields for profiling and strategic direction for vocational colleges along the lines of their three statutory task areas: teaching, research and further education. The publication ends with possible future scenarios for the third level education system in the year 2030. The viewpoint of vocational college students in Baden-Wuerttemberg is illustrated in two publications from the essay contest on the topic "The Future of Vocational Colleges".

Welche Rolle spielt die (Fach-) Hochschule zukünftig im deutschen Hochschulsystem? Die Autorinnen und Autoren des Sammelbandes gehen der Frage nach, welche Strategien Fachhochschulen entwickeln können, um sich erfolgreich zu profilieren. Nach einer Einführung in die aktuelle Situation der Fachhochschulen in Deutschland und einem Blick auf das europäische Ausland skizzieren sie mögliche Felder für die Profilierung und die strategische Ausrichtung von Fachhochschulen entlang der drei gesetzlichen Aufgabenfelder - Lehre, Forschung, Weiterbildung. Den Abschluss der Publikation bilden Zukunftsszenarien auf das Hochschulsystem im Jahr 2030. Die Sichtweise der FH-Studierenden in Baden-Württemberg wird durch zwei Essays aus dem Wettbewerb zum Thema "Die Zukunft der Fachhochschulen" verdeutlicht.
