(WZ)... view less

'The theory of Generalized Linear Models allows the consideration of a number of statistical models under a unified approach. Usually (as in GLIM, e.g.), the unknown parameters are calculated using the maximum likelihod method. However, exact distributions of the estimates or of the goodness-of-fit measures (as e.g. the deviance) in general are unknown, hence exact confidence limit or tests do not exist. Asymptotic properties have been considered, among others, by Fahrmeir and Kaufmann (1985). The Bootstrap technique (Efron, 1979) has been shown to be a good alternative to classical asymptotics in many cases. So it might be assumed that this remains true also in the case of generalized linear models. The present note illustrates the application of this technique and gives some theoretical properties of the bootstrap estimator.' (author's abstract)... view less
