In the wake of the Euro crisis new forms of austerity have emerged in Europe as part of national crisis management strategies. The Finnish and Portuguese crisis management strategies in the public sector will be contextualized by applying a combined neo-gramscian and regulationist framework. The article argues that the different forms of austerity can be seen as two faces of an overarching euro-austerity, which has prevailed in the EU but appears to hit its limit.... view less
