¿A dónde se fueron los "inmigrados" en Francia?

Abstract

La autora examina, a partir de artículos de prensa, los usos dominantes en el discurso sobre los inmigrados en Francia del concepto otro extranjero desde los años setenta hasta la fecha. Se analiza primero el significado de las diferentes figuras emblemáticas que emanaron de este concepto (trabajadores inmigrantes, inmigrados, jóvenes de los suburbios, clandestinos e indocumentados); la problemática que plantea la desaparición relativa del concepto de "inmigrante" y, por último, se reflexiona sobre la relación entre este evento discursivo y el discurso sobre la exclusión.

The author examines on the basis of journal articles the different uses in the discourse about inmigrants of the concept offoreign alien.The article analyses first the meaning of the different emblematic figures which emerged from that concept (inmigrant workers, immigrants, wetbacks, clandestine, youth bands and ¡Ilegal workers); the problems arising from the relative disappearance of the concept of inmigrant and, finally, it raises the question about the consequences of this discoursive event and the discourse relating exclusión.
