Beschäftigte in der sogenannten 24-Stunden-Betreuung (Personenbetreuung) sind im Vergleich zu Beschäftigten im institutionellen Bereich der Langzeitpflege und Betreuung (stationäre Einrichtungen, mobile Dienste, etc.) von deutlich schlechteren Arbeitsbedingungen und niedriger Entlohnung betroffen. In dem Beitrag wird mit Hilfe eines intersektionalen Ansatzes untersucht, inwiefern die Kategorien Geschlecht, Klasse und Ethnizität in der Ausgestaltung und Legitimierung dieser Beschäftigungsform und der Schlechterstellung der Arbeitskräfte ihren Niederschlag finden. Ausgehend von den Praxen und Identitätskonstruktionen der Beschäftiger_innen und den Bezügen, die sie auf die Strukturkategorien und symbolischen Repräsentationen nehmen, wird dargelegt, wie Arbeitsteilung hergestellt und legitimiert wird. Die Untersuchung stützt sich dabei auf ein intersektionales Mehrebenenmodell, wie es von Gabriele Winker und Nina Degele (2009) entwickelt wurde.... view less

The so-called 24-hour-care is characterised by significantly worse working conditions and lower wages when compared to employment in the institutional sectors of long-term-care. Drawing on an intersectional approach, developed by Gabriele Winker and Nina Degele (2009), this article investigates the intersectionality of the categories class, gender and ethnicity in the area of migrant live-in domestic elder care and wants to understand how the division of labour is put into practice and legitimized by looking into the practices of employment from the point of view of the employer.... view less
