Das Verschwinden des Patriarchats: modernisierungstheoretische Ansichten eines umstrittenen Theorems

Abstract

'Die Frage von Macht und Herrschaft in den Geschlechterverhältnissen gehört auch an der Schwelle zum 3. Jahrtausend zu den nach wie vor ungelösten Kernthemen von politischer Theorie und Praxis. Folglich erweist sich das Ende des Patriarchats als eine mächtige emanzipatorische Utopie. In diesem Beitrag wird dieses utopische Moment feministischer Denk- und Politikbewegungen am Beispiel des Ansatzes der italienischen Frauen aus der Libreria delle donne di Milano diskutiert. Die Vision 'der Mailänderinnen' vom Ende des Patriarchats ist dabei zum einen symbolisch bedeutsam für subjektive Wirklichkeitskonstruktionen und entsprechende politische Praxen; sie hat zum anderen soziale und materielle Relevanz, wie die partielle Anschlussfähigkeit an reflexiv-modernisierungstheoretische Überlegungen zeigt. Der Beitrag schließt mit der These, dass mit dem Verschwinden des Patriarchats auch das Verschwinden des Feminismus denkbar wird. Anders als 'die Mailänderinnen' wird allerdings argumentiert, dass das Ende des Patriarchats nur in Verbindung mit einer postkapitalistischen Gesellschaftsordnung zu, realisieren sein wird.' 'At the beginning of the third millenium questions of power in gender relations still belong to those central subjects in political theory and practise which are not solved. So the end of patriarchy is a powerful illusion of emancipation. This utopian element of feminist thinking and politics is discussed by relating to the work of Italian women from the Milan's Bookstore Collective. These women's vision of the end of patriarchy is both symbolically important for subjective constructions of realities and political practise, and it has social and material relevance as the author shows by connecting this vision with some ideas of the theory of reflexive modernization. Finally the author argues that the disappearance of patriarchy corresponds with the disappearance of feminism. In contrast to the Italian thinkers she points out that the end of patriarchy only could be realized in connection with a postcapitalist social order.' (author's abstract)
