Pflegende in Palliative Care treten alltäglich mit unheilbar erkrankten und sterbenden Menschen sowie deren Bezugspersonen in Interaktion. Ob sie durch die von diesen Menschen ausgehenden Reize erkranken oder gesunden, hängt in besonderem Maße davon ab, inwieweit sie diese erfolgreich bewältigen. Eine Bedingung für die gesundheitsförderliche Wirkung eines Reizes ist die aus dieser Schrift abgeleitete These, dass nur diejenigen Pflegenden langfristig effektiv bewältigen können, die sich mit ihrem Selbst und ihrem eigenen existentiellen Dasein beschäftigen und diesem einen Leid und Sterben erst erträglich machenden Sinn geben. Aufgabe der Organisation soll es sein, die kollektive Gesundheit der Pflegenden in Palliative Care zu unterstützen, um nicht zuletzt hohe Personalfluktuation und die damit verbundene eingeschränkte Dienstleistungsperformance zu vermeiden. Die organisationale Unterstützung sollte normativ verankert, strategisch geplant und letztlich konsequent auf der operativen Pflegemanagementebene umgesetzt werden.... view less

Nurses in Palliative Care interact with terminally ill and dying people as well as their relatives on a daily base. If this leads to a movement from the health- to the dis-ease pole in the continuum, depends especially on effective coping. One requirement for the effective long-term coping is the consideration with the self and the own existence. Giving ones own life a deep sense makes suffering and dying bearable. The Task for the Organization is to support the collective health of the nurses and thus avoiding personnel turnover and reaching improved the induced service performance. The organizational support should contain a normative integration, strategic planning and a consequent implementation on the operative management level.... view less
