Las instituciones político-regionales en el escenario latinoamericano: la actuación del grupo de Río

Abstract

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer un análisis acerca de la actuación del Grupo de Río en América Latina como un mecanismo de concertación política regional que ha logrado mantenerse a casi dos décadas de su creación, a pesar de sus crisis de credibilidad y del entorno mundial desfavorable en la actualidad. La autora analiza la trayectoria del Grupo desde su origen hasta nuestros días, poniendo énfasis en cuáles son los temas que siguen vigentes y de obligatoria permanencia y cuáles los que se han transformado, así como la manera en la que se ha abordado el tema de la estabilidad política en la agenda de concertación.

The main objective of this paper is to analyse the role the Rio Group has played in Latin America as a co-ordinating mechanism for political consensus in the region over the past two decades, despite questions regarding its credibility and the unfavourable international scenario in which it functions today. In her article, the author studies the development of the Rio Group from its creation to the present day, emphasising issues that continue to be important and are compulsory, as well as those which have changed over the years, such as the manner in which the Group approaches the theme of political stability within the consensus agenda.
