Visión de la prensa respecto a la situación de adicción entre las mujeres mexicanas, 1997-1999

Abstract

El artículo presenta los resultados cuantitativos y cualitativos obtenidos de una investigación en la que se analizaron los contenidos noticiosos que once periódicos mexicanos publicaron con relación a las adicciones de las mujeres mexicanas durante los años 1997, 1998 y 1999. El análisis muestra la magnitud en la que fueron abordadas las noticias sobre adicciones así como a los emisores que se pronunciaron al respecto. La investigación utilizó como fuente al Boletín de Información Periodística en Salud, editado por la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Xochimilco. Los hallazgos indican que la prensa publicó escasa información sobre este problema y se dedicó más a difundir datos sobre el número de adictas, muertes y daños que se generan en el feto, durante el embarazo, que a explicar las causas de la adicción y cómo prevenirla.

The article present the obtained quantitative and qualitative results of an investigation, in that the contents were analyzed which eleven Mexican newspapers published with relationship to the addictions of the Mexican women, during the years 199, 1998 and 1999. The analysis present the magnitude the news were approached it has more than enough addictions and to the originators that were pronounced in this respect. The investigation used as source to the Bulletin of Journalistic Information in Health, published by the Metropolitan Autonomous University, Xochimilco. The discoveries indicate that the press published scarce information on this problem; the information took charge of diffusing more data on the number of addicts, deaths and damages than they are generated in the fetus, during the pregnancy, omitting the explanations on the causes of the addiction and how to prevent it.
