Tagungsbericht: Qualitative Inhaltsanalyse - and beyond?

Abstract

Der vorliegende Beitrag skizziert die wesentlichen Diskussionslinien der Tagung "Qualitative Inhaltsanalyse - and beyond?". Als übergeordnete Fragestellung kristallisierte sich heraus, ob der Rückgriff auf andere Verfahren - wie die Grounded-Theory-Methodologie oder die Diskursanalyse - zu einer Elaboration der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse im Sinne eines "Werkzeugkastens" methodologisch legitim sei. In diesem Zusammenhang und mit Blick auf bestehende Stärken und Weiterentwicklungspotenziale der qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse wurden zudem Fragen nach deren analytischer Reichweite sowie zu den Bedingungen des Verstehens und der Notwendigkeit einer Hintergrundtheorie diskutiert.

This conference report provides an overview of the main issues discussed at the conference "Qualitative Content Analysis - and Beyond?" The pivotal question discussed was whether or not it is reasonable and legitimate to combine qualitative content analysis with other research approaches, for example grounded theory methodology, to enhance its qualitative core. Other issues discussed were the analytical reach of qualitative content analysis, the conditions of understanding, and the lack of and necessity for a background theory.
