Vom Verschwinden des (Inter)Kulturellen und Überleben der (Inter)Kulturalität

Abstract

Kulturkonzepte sehen sich in der inter- und kulturvergleichenden Forschung zunehmend der Kritik ausgesetzt. In der Folge haben sich neue Konzepte etabliert, die auf eine Entgrenzung, Entessentialisierung, Hybridisierung und Fuzzyisierung von Kultur verweisen. Darunter befinden sich Konzepte wie das der dialektischen Perspektivenbildung, der sozialen Imaginationen (social imaginaries) und der Praxistheorie, Konzepte, die als Lösungsansätze für das immanente Theorie-Praxis Dilemma in der (inter)kulturellen Forschung und Trainingspraxis gesehen werden. Dieser Beitrag will einen Referenzrahmen für neue theoretische Ansätze bieten und zum Nachdenken über neue experimentelle Trainingsdesigns anregen.

Concepts of culture have increasingly been criticized from various perspectives among the inter- and cross-cultural research communities. As a result, new conceptualisations have been developed aiming at the blurring of boundaries, de-essentialisation, hybridisation and fuzzyisation of culture. Among others, the concepts of dialectical perspectives, of social imaginaries and the theory of social practice have been proposed as some kind of solution for the immanent theory-praxis dilemma in (inter)cultural research and training. This paper seeks to provide a frame of reference for new theoretical approaches and to stimulate thinking about experimental training designs.
