Objectives: analyzing nursing care established for newborns in accommodation set who, subsequently, underwent intra-hospital transfer. Method: a descriptive, exploratory, quantitative and qualitative research approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the University Hospital Antonio Pedro (HUAP), under protocol: 182.253/2012; and conducted with eight nurses of the accommodation set through document analysis through survey in the bank records with the application of a checklist on line of nursing care and semistructured interview. Results: in the analysis of the data, the results showed the importance of women and newborn in the same space and guidelines to escorts. The conduction of physical examination shows its effectiveness in monitoring. Conclusion: thus, nurses must perform their care upon admission and stay of the newborn in its entirety, favoring comfort and safety.... view less
