(Autorenreferat)... view less

"If depletable resources are used as a means of production, what are the investment rules and existence conditions for achieving a positive constant level of consumption and maintaining it over an infinite period of time? This paper tries to answer these questions, extending Hartwick’s
rule to the case of stock-dependent extraction costs. It is shown that the necessary investment volume merely absorbs the rents net of 'extraction profits'. Therefore, the level of investment is less in the case of stock-dependent extraction costs. Moreover, existence conditions do not change
in the case of stock-dependent extraction costs." (author's abstract)... view less
