For a better understanding of the relevance of culture for people's action, this article suggests to take culture itself as an object and a theme of social discursive construction. From participating in this discourse, individuals derive their own subjective notion of culture that they will implement as performative acts in their lives. The article will give examples for the use of the different notions of culture mentioned in mass media communication.... view less
