Erhebungstechniken, die einen Einsatz von Interviewern erfordern, setzen zwangsläufig immer eine Rekrutierung und Schulung dieser Mitarbeiter voraus. Gleichgültig, ob der potentielle Interviewer persönliche oder telefonische Interviews durchführen soll, er spielt in der Befragungssituation eine der beiden zentralen Rollen, nämlich die Zielperson zur Teilnahme zu bewegen und Daten im Rahmen der Befragung zu erheben. Indem er auf das Teilnahme- und Antwortverhalten des Befragten einwirkt, muss sichergestellt werden, dass dies in den „richtigen Bahnen“ verläuft. Um also Interviewereffekte so gering wie möglich zu halten, ist auf Auswahl, Schulung und Motivation der Interviewer ein besonderes Augenmerk zu richten, denn die Qualität der Feldarbeit und somit der Daten hängt maßgeblich von den beteiligten Akteuren ab. Die Optimierung der Datenqualität beginnt somit bei der Interviewerauswahl, setzt sich fort in der Interviewerschulung und endet mit der Interviewerkontrolle. Es werden folgende Fragen behandelt:
Was ist bei der Rekrutierung von Interviewern zu beachten? Welche Art von Schulungen sollten durchgeführt werden? Welche Qualitätssicherungen können durchgeführt werden?... view less
