"The article focuses on the possibility of a 'cultural learning' without a projection of the own cultural self-conception on the subject of learning. At first, the author describes the 'cultural turn' in the social and cultural sciences, thus explaining current intercultural conceptions of learning (intercultural education and intercultural competence), but also the critique of these. In philosophy, an alternative concept of intercultural thinking has developed since the late 1980s. After presenting a short overview of selected approaches and propositions of intercultural philosophy, the author suggests the concept of 'culturality' as a perspective for social criticism that, in the end, challenges 'cultural learning'."
