Die industrielle Entwicklung in der Gemeinde lässt sich wie folgt zusammenfassen: durch Wasserkraft zum Zahnrad und vom Uhrmacher zum Weltmarktführer. Die im Ort ansässigen Industrieunternehmen haben ein großes Leistungsvermögen, das nicht nur für die Gemeinde von Vorteil ist, sondern für die ganze Region. Ob die Gemeinde im ländlichen Raum den von den Firmen gestellten betriebswirtschaftlichen Erfordernissen auf Dauer adäquat gerecht werden kann, muss sich zeigen. Landespolitisch könnte es erforderlich sein, steuernd und unterstützend einzugreifen, um auch aus Sicht der Betriebe bestehende Zielkonflikte anzugehen. Die alteingesessenen Firmen wirken ökonomisch und sozial stabilisierend. Sie tragen auch zu ausgewogeneren Lebens- und Arbeitsverhältnissen in der Region bei. Das hilft, der Dynamik des Nutzungswandels und den sich verändernden Ansprüchen der Gesellschaft gerecht werden zu können. Um die industrielle Ausrichtung auch in Zukunft auf dem heutigen hohen Niveau weiterzuentwickeln, sind eine angemessene Finanzausstattung und eine Anpassung der infrastrukturellen Voraussetzungen unerlässlich sowie für die zukünftige (Vorwärts-)Entwicklung der Kulturlandschaft in ländlichen Räumen entscheidend.The municipality Eisenbach in the Upper Black Forest is unique in the whole of Germany in terms of the concentration of its highly developed industrial potential: 2150 residents, over 1300 employees making social security contributions, about 1200 (ca. 95 %) of whom work in the manufacturing sector of the gear and transmission industry, and 925 in-commuters. The industrial development of the municipality can be summarised as follows: from water power to gears and from watchmaker to world market leader. The industrial firms located in the town have great capabilities that represent an advantage not only for the municipality but also for the entire region. Whether in the long term the rurally located municipality can adequately meet the business requirements presented by the firms, remains to be seen. It could be necessary for the federal state to intervene with appropriate management and support policies in order to tackle what the companies see as conflicts of goals. The old established firms have an economically and socially stabilising effect. They also contribute towards a healthy life-work balance in the region. This helps in successfully meeting the dynamic of transforming uses and the changing requirements of society. To further develop this industrial orientation in the future and maintain today’s high standards, commensurate funding and modification of the infrastructural conditions are indispensible, as well as being decisive for the future (forwards) development of the cultural landscape in rural spaces.}, keywords = {Bundesrepublik Deutschland; competitiveness; ländlicher Raum; infrastructure; Flächennutzung; Baden-Württemberg; industry; Federal Republic of Germany; area utilization; Beschäftigtenstruktur; rural area; composition of personnel; Entwicklung; development; Infrastruktur; Baden-Württemberg; Wettbewerbsfähigkeit; Industrie; local politics; Kommunalpolitik}}
