Abstract

Die Verfasserin betont die Bedeutung historischer Datensätze für die Untersuchung des Sozialkapitals einer Gesellschaft. Die meisten Studien zum Sozialkapital behandeln den Zeitraum zwischen 1950 und heute. Ein nützlicher, von historischen Datensätzen zur Verfügung gestellter Indikator betrifft die Mitgliedschaft in Verbänden und Organisationen. Die Verfasserin stellt verschiedene historische Datensätze vor, die sich unter anderem mit Verbänden, Organisationen, Protestverhalten und Petitionen beschäftigen. (ICEÜbers)

'This article points out the importance of historical data sets for social research concerning social capital within a society. Most of the studies dealing with social capital are in the range of 1950 until today. A very useful indicator is the information about the membership in associations and organisations in the history provided by historical datasets, which enables a deeper insight into historical processes. After a brief review of the discussion various Historical Datasets are presented dealing - among other topics - in various aspects with the rote of associations, organisations, activities of protests and petitions.'
