Gegenstand des Beitrags ist eine einflußreiche Tradition der interpretativen Sozialforschung in der deutschsprachigen Soziologie, die mit dem Werk von Fritz Schütze eng verbunden ist: der soziologische Narrativismus. Diese Methode der Sozialforschung besteht aus zwei Komponenten: dem narrativen Interview für die Datenerhebung und der Erzählanalyse. Es wird gezeigt, daß diese Methode der interpretativen Sozialforschung auf der Prämisse fußt, daß Erzählen die fundamentale Erfahrungsweise ist. Es wird argumentiert, daß Erzählen zwar eine Erfahrungsweise ist, aber weder die fundamentale noch die einzige. Es wird gezeigt, daß in Ergänzung zur Erzählung die Collage und der Begriff gleichrangige Darstellungsformen von Erfahrung sind. (KWÜbers)... view less

The article deals with a tradition of interpretative social research influential in German-speaking sociology, which is connected with the works of Fritz Schütze. It is called sociological narrativism. The method of social research has two components: the 'narrative interview' for data collection and the narrative analysis. It is shown that this method of interpretive social research is based on the premise that narrating is the fundamental mode of experience. It is argued that narrating is one mode of experience but neither the fundamental nor the only one. In addition to the narration, the collage and the concept are shown to be of equal importance as performances of experience.... view less
