Normative Grundlagen des pluralistischen Paradigmas

Abstract

In Theoriedebatten wird immer wieder nach einem Umgang mit der Multiparadigmatizität der Soziologie gesucht. Mit dem pluralistischen Paradigma steht ein Vorschlag im Raum, dem es darum geht, alle soziologischen Theorien gleichermaßen zum Gebrauch bereitzuhalten. Das pluralistische Paradigma wird durch eine machtanalytische und -kritische Lesart soziologischer Theorie ermöglicht. Sie kann mittels einer immanenten Kritik zur Öffnung der Kontingenz soziologischer Theorie beitragen und ist gleichzeitig auf eine Haltung angewiesen, die sich gegen den verbreiteten Narzissmus der Theorie richtet. In diesem Beitrag werden das doing theory im pluralistischen Paradigma am Beispiel der Systemtheorie Niklas Luhmanns vorgeführt und die normativen Grundlagen dieses Paradigmas expliziert.

There is an ongoing debate about how to deal with the multiparadigmatic constitution of sociology. The pluralist paradigm approach aims to have all kinds of sociological theories ready for use. It bases on a power-analytical and power-critical reading of sociological theory and contributes to open up the contingency of sociological theory. Therefore, it is framed as an immanent critique that is directed against the widespread narcissism of the theory. In this paper, firstly I demonstrate the doing theory of the pluralist paradigm by using Niklas Luhmann's systems theory as an example. Secondly, I elucidate the normative foundations of this paradigm.
