Latin America faces a historical challenge in its struggle for autonomy and social justice, marked by a legacy of dictatorships and authoritarian regimes. This article explores the impact of military training and foreign intervention, especially from the United States, on human rights violations. It highlights the importance of learning from history and strengthening autonomous regional security systems. The role of organizations, such as the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and the need for effective citizen participation, are crucial to build sustainable and lasting peace in times of transition to a new multipolar global order.

América Latina enfrenta un desafío histórico en su lucha por la autonomía y la justicia social, marcada por un legado de dictaduras y regímenes autoritarios. Este artículo explora el impacto de la formación militar y la intervención extranjera, especialmente de Estados Unidos, en las violaciones de derechos humanos. Se destaca la importancia de aprender de la historia y fortalecer sistemas de seguridad regionales autónomos.
