The following Current Debate section documents a fishbowl discussion held in a hybrid format during the Summer Term of 2022 as part of an MA class on "Digital Research Methods Beyond Pandemic Times," organised by Andrea Fleschenberg in collaboration with Muhammad Salman Khan. The conversation brings together early-career researchers - specifically, PhD students from the Institute of Asian and African Studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - who reflect on and discuss their concrete experiences, obstacles, challenges, and opportunities encountered while conducting PhD research during the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe and Asia.
