NATO, by its Spanish acronym, is an organization of political-military cooperation created in the framework of the Cold War, which confronted two hegemonic world blocks, by representing two preponderant ideologies of the 20th century, capitalism and communism. After the symbolic "defeat" of communism with the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989) and the dissolution of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) (1991). This organization has been maintained as a space for negotiation by the world capitalist powers that "triumphed." Through this organization, wars and aggressions against other countries, such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, among others, have been promoted. Colombia, during most of its republican life, has been a Buffer State to stop regional political processes or to serve as a continental platform and of aggression against other states in Latin America and the world.... view less

La OTAN, por sus siglas en español, es un organismo de cooperación político militar creado en el marco de la Guerra Fría que enfrentó dos bloques mundiales hegemónicos representantes de dos ideologías preponderantes en el siglo XX, capitalismo y comunismo. Luego de la simbólica "derrota" del comunismo en el marco de la caída del muro de Berlín (1989) y la disolución de la Unión de Repúblicas Socialistas Soviéticas (URSS) (1991), este organismo se ha sostenido como un espacio de negociación de las potencias capitalistas mundiales que "triunfaron". Por medio de este organismo, se han promovido guerras y agresiones a otros países como Irak, Afganistán, Siria, entre otros. Colombia durante la mayor parte de su vida republicana, ha sido un Estado Tapón para detener procesos políticos regionales o servir de plataforma continental y de agresión contra otros estados en América Latina y el mundo.... view less
