Feministischer Fußball - Entsportlichung oder eigensinniger Gegenentwurf?

Abstract

Abseits des verbandlich organisierten Fußballs versuchen zahlreiche Fußballinitiativen, mit dem Leistungsprimat des hegemonialen Fußballmodells zu brechen. Dieser Artikel analysiert anhand eines internationalen feministischen Fußballfestivals die spielerischen und organisatorischen Praktiken, mit denen Leistungsstreben und Wettstreit zugunsten von Vergemeinschaftung, Solidarität und gegenseitiger Befähigung austariert werden. Diese praktische Umgestaltung und die Grenzen, an die sie stoßen, werden vor dem Hintergrund eines leistungszentrierenden Sportbegriffs und der daran geübten feministischen Kritik diskutiert. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die Frage, ob die Dezentrierung des Wettstreits als Entsportlichung oder eigensinniger Gegenentwurf verstanden werden kann. Der Artikel plädiert für einen praxistheoretischen und feministisch informierten Sportbegriff, der nicht auf Leistung und Wettstreit basiert, sondern sich für die vielfältigen Praxisformen des Fußballs öffnet. Das der Analyse zugrunde liegende empirische Material wurde im Rahmen einer mehrjährigen ethnografischen Feldforschung bei einer Frauenrechts- und Frauenfußballorganisation erhoben.

Beyond association-based football, numerous football initiatives are trying to break with the performance primacy of the hegemonic football model. This article uses an international feminist football festival as an example to analyze the sports and organisational practices that balance the pursuit of achievement and competition in favor of community, solidarity and mutual empowerment. These practical transformations and the limits they encounter are discussed against the background of a performance-centred concept of sport and the feminist critique of it. The central question is whether the decentering of competition can be understood as de-sportization or as a willful counter-concept. The article pleads for a practice theoretical and feminist concept of sport that is not based on performance and competition, but is open to the manifold forms of football. The empirical material on which the analysis is based was collected during several years of ethnographic field research at a women’s rights and women’s football organisation.
