Der Artikel untersucht die Tarifkonflikte bei der Lufthansa Group, die in den Jahren 2000-2019 zwischen dem Unternehmen und den Gewerkschaften VC (Cockpit), UFO (Kabine) und ver.di (Boden) stattfanden. Auf der Grundlage eines konflikttheoretischen Rahmens werden zunächst die beteiligten Akteure und ihre Interessen vorgestellt, bevor die vielgestaltige Konfliktgeschichte zwischen der Lufthansa und ihren Gewerkschaften selbst dargelegt wird. Anschließend systematisieren wir die unterschiedlichen Konflikte nach ihren Ursachen und Hintergründen, um sie - geordnet nach Eskalationsstufen - in eine Konflikttypologie zu überführen. Dabei hat sich gezeigt, dass sich hinter vermeintlichen Tarifauseinandersetzungen häufig tiefergehende Konflikte mit hohem Eskalationspotenzial verbergen. This article investigates the collective bargaining disputes involving Lufthansa, VC (cockpit), UFO (cabin crews) and ver.di (ground staff) between 2000 and 2019. Before progressing to document the complex history of conflict between Lufthansa and the unions, we consider the specific interests of the various parties within a conflictual framework. This will be proceeded by systematizing the different types of conflict (background, root cause, level of escalation) in order to develop a typology able to offer a better understanding of these conflicts. We aim to demonstrate how deeper conflictual issues have the potential to escalate labour and wage disputes between Lufthansa and the labor unions. Noting that conflict is an ongoing problem between the company and labor unions, the article emphasizes the relevance of constructive conflict management.... view less
