This paper presents preliminary results of the research project TraDiLog, which addresses digitalization and automatization of the workplace and its consequences on employees. Changes in these dimensions further affect the Work Ability of employees: In the current period of transition to "Industry 4.0" or "Logistics 4.0" and its increasing automatization of tasks, we observed a loss of autonomy at the workplace on the one hand, but also rising requirements of job skills, professional qualification and flexibility on the other hand. Regarding work ability, digitalization may therefore create friction between increasing workload and decreasing human resources of the individual employee at the same time.... weniger
