The impact of biographic as well as social contexts can be illustrated very well by comparing different cases. This also helps to understand better how institutional actions of welfare service providers influence the orientation of their clients towards employment. These issues are discussed taking into consideration the heterogeneous composition of the group of people who rely on the provisions of the SGB II. Two case descriptions show different ways to overcome the dependency on unemployment benefits.... view less
