The article examines the normativity of critique. Its starting point lies in the observation that critique evidently is unable to avoid judgements. The question then is, firstly, if it is in principle possible to avoid normative dimensions, and, secondly, if the normativity of critique has to be understood as a fully justified, allembracing conception of normativity. With the help of a discussion of realistic approaches to political thinking it becomes evident, that normative references are inevitable. However it will be argued, that this normativity isn’t a full-embracing conception of normativity, but rather an implication of a critical interrogation. This minimal normativity is a result of an opening and a distance implied by the critical interrogation itself.... view less
