In this article we want to question the role of Moscow in the international history of Eastern European popular democracies. In comparison with studies about the relationships to the West, to the South or to other popular democracies, the current historiography underestimates the variety of exchanges between USSR and the socialist countries. We consider here the benefits of provincializing Moscow in the study of communism, in order to reintegrate Soviet presence in the history of the region.... view less
