(Autorenreferat)... view less

"This article tries to develop a different (decentralized) situational concept starting from empirical criticisms towards the conversation analytical interpretation of court hearings. In the import-export-concept, the actual interaction between the participants is not the only frame of reference for the statement made. The question of the points of reference of the different statements becomes one empirical issue. The ethnographic analysis of the opening of asylum-hearings, especially of the role assigned to the input and output of documents, shows that the different contributions are not created in the situation but are imported as half-products; statements are not solely made for the people present but are also exported to absent people as well as for future use. Some organizations take part in the hearings without an equal participation of all people concerned." (author's abstract)... view less
