(Autorenreferat)... view less

"This article reports the results of a study of differences in the social integration of immigrant students at German part-time and full-time schools. The key question is whether full-time schools provide better opportunities for immigrant students to integrate into their host society. Among the factors analyzed in this qualitative study of 70 schools were intercultural support, special language promotion, special intercultural training for teachers, and barriers to integration as perceived by school principals and teachers. These factors were taken into account in a comparison of part-time and full-time schooling of primary school and secondary school students." (author's abstract)... view less
