Über das Verhältnis von Geist und Macht im NS-Regime und im SED-Staat

Abstract

Der Beitrag behandelt den Zusammenhang von Geist und Macht im NS-Regime und im SED-Staat. Im Mittelpunkt des Systemvergleichs stehen die Ideologien und intellektuellen Konzepte, auf die sich beide Systeme in unterschiedlicher Weise beziehen. Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich vor allem mit engagierten Intellektuellen, die mit ihren Konzepten einen politischen Einfluss ausüben wollten. Diese Intellektuellen entschieden sich nicht aus rein opportunistischen Gründen für oder gegen eine politische Karriere; sie standen nicht in Opposition zu dem jeweiligen politischen System, sondern sahen sich als intellektuell überlegene Vertreter philosophischer Prinzipien, gegen deren machtpolitische Reduzierung sie arbeiteten. 'The essay deals with the relation of intellect and power during the NS regime and in the SED state. For this, the value of those ideologies and intellectual concepts to which both systems refered in different ways is in the focus of the comparison of systems. The text focuses on the comparison of committed intellectuals who tried to influence politics by way of their concepts. Not only for opportunistic reasons they tried to make careers or to stay out of politics, and they did not consider themselves opponents of their respective political systems but intellectually superior representatives of the respective philosophical principles against whose power-political reduction they worked.'
